Calculators are estimates
Calculator results are estimates based on the information you enter and simplified assumptions, such as a constant interest rate over the full amortization. Actual payments, penalties, insurance premiums, terms, program rules and costs vary by lender and contract, and change over time. Penalty estimates in particular may be much lower than what your lender charges. Always get figures from your lender in writing.
Rules change
Mortgage rules, rates, programs and regulations change. We review content regularly and show when each page was last updated, but we can't guarantee that every page reflects the most current rules at the moment you read it.
